I got a free printer from Dell - Printer 720 and now ran out of ink. Could I buy a different brand? There's a note that I could only order ink from Dell. Is that true?

okay, i think i got the same freebie as you, if you did, theres only one other ink cartrage that will fit your dell and its made by Lexmark, now what sux about dell is that you can only buy dell cartrages from dell, so yea, dont buy any printers off Dell.

Go to or look for Cartrage World, they're a great franchise store to go to for this stuff.

Why yes, yes it is. You can buy a third party cartridge, however they will be a refilled cartridge and there is a good chance you will not have the same quality.

Dell does not license anybody else to sell their products. Any compatible, refurbished, re-manufactured or recycled cartridges are just refills. You must order from dell. You may hear that Lexmark makes dell printers, and this is true. However the cartridges, although similar are keyed as a dell cartridges and thus a lexmark cartridge will not register in the printer.

Dell will tell you that if you don't use their ink cartridges you'll void the warranty. Well that's an outright lie. If you use a replacement ink cartridge designed for your specific printer your fine. Find out the manufacturer of your printer and order directly from them or go to www.abacus24-7.com

Odds are you can only order ink from dell, I know thats the case with my dell printer. It sucks, I know.. Thats why I just purchased a refurbished lexmark that came with free ink. Because the ink costs as much as the printer, its like I got the printer for free. Thats my recommendation to you.

You can order ink from dell if you want to but you are able to buy another brand. The numbers on the ink boxes just need to be the same as your old ones or close enough to use.

There aren't any "low-cost" ink refills, and that i have heard of people having similar issues as you've. Use the top cleansing and alignment purposes that got here including your printer assorted cases till you've better effective consequences. mainly, you need to pay for acceptable ink cartridges or run into similar issues no count number which printer you purchase. certain, that's annoying to ought to pay a lot. For now, please get used to the conception-- that's the nature of the beast.

Third party ink cartriges may be available for your printer, try searching on the internet for that. Remember it's always a risk to try third party cartriges because they may damage your printer.
