Can I upgrade without any disks? If not where do I get them and how much are they? Please help my computer is sooo slowww!! Does Windows matter about my computer's speed or is it something else?

When I want to print photos or greetingscards it stops printing a quarter of the way into printing. It will only print all the way through if I have it on plain paper and fast normal in properties. Also I get a line running length ways down my paper after printing which the experts cant solve. Ive put new cartridges in so its not that and run the cleaning heads program to no avail. Im going through an awful lot of card and photo paper. Help!

The printer is turned on, you can hear it moving but when you would want to print then it won't print. All the documents are queued up. I want to solve this but what do I do? I've closed the printer, pulled the plug and took off the usb connector but it wont work. I've tried installing it again and it doesnt wanna go with me. pls. help me. printer problems....

OK......i have this laptop that i want to use it for my job (singing) instead of using discs...i have installed everything i need to support my music...but when i try to use the music player it keeps telling me i need a soundcard driver....i have searched high and low for this driver and still no result, so i would truly appreciate it if someone could help me with this...everything else works on the laptop but i need this driver, the product code to the laptop is SONY pcg-6g1m any help will do....thanks

Hi, when my PC (only 1yr old) starting ticking and freezing, then wouldn't start to XP at all, PC World replaced my hard-drive (stepdad builds his own PCs and put it in for me), re-installed XP, programs etc. Now I have no sound. I've been to device manager all the troubleshoots etc. and I have deduced that I have NO audio device at all apparently. Would it come in the hard drive / on the recovery XP disk or do I have to 'get one' seperately. I don't know much about this. Drivers aren't the problem I don't think, there is nothing to 'drive' so to speak. Can I download what I'm missing? Stepdads out! Hence me asking - has anybody any idea what I'm trying to describe? And how to fix it?
Also system restore just goes to 'not responding' anything to do with system does the same. Do I need to take this XP off and install it again fresh? Or is there something wrong with this hard drive aswell? I get re-boot messages on start up sometimes - any ideas? It's not viruses.. as NOD32 is on there

I have an intergreted Nvidia 6100 card in my E-machines W3115 system. It came with 512 MB of DDR PC 4200 RAM and 128 MB shared video. I had the original driver it came with (83.11 or something like that). Since then I've upgraded the memory to 2 GB and the driver to (93.71) and now when I go into the adaptor settings for the card it says I have 512 MB of video. The funny thing is I'm still using 1.87 GB of memory (256 MB shared). Is there something wrong with that or do I actually have 512 MB of video memory while only using 256 MB shared?

i have obviously a tower pc, 1 sony dvd rom drive and a sony dvd rw. I want to remove the Rom drive as its abit dodgy and install this pioneer in its place, so i took off the side casing, unscrewed the rom drive, and simply plugged in my new sparkly pioneer using the existing leads......NOTHING,,,,not a sausage, apparently the pc cant find where to boot from now. SO, i then went into the boot set up (f11) and when i look for my hard drive its not in the list, so i then just put the old drive back in as it was and everything boots up again as it did! what the hells wrong? please somebody help

I access the internet through a 3G/GPRS Data card I found it was very slow at "getting on sites" so I have bought "ONSPEED" that is supposed to speed things up, but after a few days it seems slow again, is there anything else I can do? Since a fax machine works on the same priniciple as a scanner is there some way of attaching it to the computer so that the computer can receive the document. I realize this can be done if there are two phone lines but I would like to know if the fax machine can be connected directly to a computer and be used as a scanner

When I turn my computer off, the power light goes off as usual. But, a throbbing starts up, which doesn't go away at all, until I turn the computer back on. Also, the orange light (I think it is a 'hard disk indicator light'?) flashes continuously whilst the computer is off. Any ideas?
