It sounds like the images exceed the memory size of the printer. Your printer seems to load print file into its memory till full and pauses before print, but somehow loses connection with the file once it starts and the remaining can not load. You might want to try connecting printer using differrent type of cable and re-loading printer software. Sometimes old and low quality cables are known to interfer with printing.

As for the mark running down your paper it sounds like dirt somewhere in the printer on the paper path or in fuser. If you are running paper thicker than the machine can handle it will rub its ways through on printing and pickup excessive dirt/toner. Also if the paper is to thick for the printer you can get feed roller marks.

Most importantly make sure your printer can handle the papers your using. If your questions title is correct your using a B/W laser printer which might not be really made to use card stock paper.

Is the Print Server Vista properly suited? i could verify the producer’s internet site to make confident by way of fact Vista works on a distinctive driving force administration format than XP. you could ought to get drivers to have Vista comprehend the print server alongside with the printer, except the printer is linked throughout the time of the LAN line returned with a grasp computing device and something being Slaves. subsequently, it ought to be inflicting the printer to print “black” or encrypted by way of fact it’s no longer recognizing it.
