OK......i have this laptop that i want to use it for my job (singing) instead of using discs...i have installed everything i need to support my music...but when i try to use the music player it keeps telling me i need a soundcard driver....i have searched high and low for this driver and still no result, so i would truly appreciate it if someone could help me with this...everything else works on the laptop but i need this driver, the product code to the laptop is SONY pcg-6g1m any help will do....thanks

KVC there is a soundcard in there but no driver....

You can find out what kind of Sound Card Driver you probably do have - if you hear sound out of the laptop - then you do have a driver.
The truth is all you need to do is find out what kind of sound card driver you need and you will most likely be able to download it from the Internet and install it to your computer.
Go to CONTROL PANEL
Click on Sound/Audio Devices
Click Audio to learn what your sound device is. It will tell you brand and model number.
Then go on the web and locate that brand. Look for the latest driver in the model number given and download and install it to your computer.
If all else fails, call SONY and ask for their assistance in locating the right driver.
If there is no sound card - highly unlikely - then you will have to buy one for your computer and have it installed. Probably you will not have to do this.

the sound card is hardware that you install manually , it is a computer chip that you can buy from most computer dealers the driver is usually the programme disc that you install/load after installing the soundcard..... if you cannot find the driver programme c.d for it you can download it from sony ´s website

go to the manufacture of the sound card and the should driver u need also if it is the same one the manufacture sony put in u could also try there site to they might have it

i think u dont know your sound device
check out the disk that came along with your laptop to see if the driver is there
or
get this software to find out
