I need to connect an LCD monitor and a projector to my computer. I've tried a VGA splitter but the picture quality drops when there both connected.
I thought i could use a graphics card with 2 VGA outputs, can anyone recommend one suitable for PC gaming.
Finally will i be able to use the two outputs at the same time for example watching tele on the projector via my TV tuner card and using my LCD for wordprocessing. My compuer spec is an intel p4 1.7GHz, 1GB ram, 1 agp slot, running windows ME.
Thanks.

When you say "suitable for gaming", what type of games are you looking at playing? The really high-end first-person titles like Half-Life 2, Fear, Everquest II etc probably have hardware requirements that far exceed what you've got.

Most of the high-end gaming cards that offer dual outputs are PCI-Express these days (rather than AGP) and generally have dual-DVI. The most common configuration is still one VGA and one DVI output port, and you can use a $5 adapter.

There are a number of older AGP cards that have dual VGA outputs like the GeForce 5200 and ATI Radeon 7000 series, but those aren't fast enough for the newest games. However, they will handle games like StarCraft, the Sims, and watching photos & video clips just fine. That might be a good choice for what you're doing.

You should be able to do this with all the cables that came with your projector. The projector has a VGA in and a VGA out. plug your LCD monitor into the VGA out and you shuold not experience any signal loss.

And your going to need a lot more PC to do what you want.

You will be able to do that with a newer graphics card with two vga outputs, or you will find one with a vga output and a dvi output, if you find that it is alright, they normally come with a converter to make the dvi output a vga output. The problem your going to run into is that your processor might not let you run both of those processes smoothly and Windows ME might get in the way of finding a good program to do each.

You need quite an upgrade to do what you want, but first check what your Motherboard will support (I'm thinking you may need to upgrade that to start with).
