It is suppose to let me go back to an earlier date to restore settings. It won't let me go back past today at all. I've tried everything. What am I not doing right?

You may not have automatic system restore enabled on your PC. Hence it wont make any restore points if you dont make them manually. To check, goto [start] right click [my computer] hit [properties] and goto the [system restore] tab. There is a lil box there that reads "Turn off system restore on all drives" . Make sure that box isnt ticked! Hope that helps

The system restore does not always work. I suspect that some spyware may affect it. The system restore has bailed me and the people I work on's computes many times.Unfortunately it can break at when its needed the most.

Did u try on Control panel
and hit the Date and time?

you could have the system restore memory alocation set to low.
