question about webcams and speakers?

i've got a webcam and speaker, and when i set it up, i can hear and see the dude on the other side, but the dude on the other side can only see me. so what should i do?

You say you've got a Webcam + a Speaker..... but do you have a PC Microphone hooked up to the soundcard at the back of the PC?

If there is a microphone plugged in to the back, and in the correct slot....... open up the Volume control....... and make sure "Microphone Volume" hasn't been ticked to mute it.
