I broke the screen to my laptop about 6 months ago. I tried to replace the screen with a slightly smaller screen from another laptop. It works, but the screen is a little jumbled up and the graphics stink and it flickers. I would like to know if I can get some software or druver to make the screen work, or if the screen just isn't compatible with the computer and I should find a more appropriate one. I know this is tough question so I would really appreciate it if I got any answers.

Actually, there's not a whole lot you can do with it except to order the right parts for that particular machine. Technology now is so precise that it just doesnt allow for make-shift repairs. Yes, there are many many differences in the two screens. Larry RadioShack 01-9590

I have changed out a few laptop screens and they didnt need any software after the swap to make it work properly. It prolly isnt compatiable with the base you are using or some of the wiring isnt fastened tight, or the connectors are causing the jumpiness.

Why not go to the manufacturer's site and do some research in there? You may find the exact replacement.
Or, another idea would be to get a stand alone monitor and plug it to your laptop.

Try going to the manufactures webpage for any information on drivers for that perticular screen. You may also try changing the video settings on your computer.
