I had the tray already ejected and turned in my chair real quick to get something and when I turned back my knee hit the ejected tray. I think it knocked it off its track because it will not go back in or anything. What should I do? Is this an easily fixable problem? Any advice you can offer is GREATLY appreciated. I am a college student, so obviously I live on my computer and do not have enough money to purchase a new one.....:(

I hate to tell you, but it's probably permanently broken. You could try opening your computer, unmounting the drive, and opening the drive and trying to fix it like that, but it's most likely dead

hmm.. ur problem is really serious. Let's try this trick. Every cd/dvd rom equipped with a reset button in front of it. take a office Allpin or more long syring and you will find a small hole in front of drive, insert the pin init and press it smoothly with trying to pushing back the tray in station. try this 2-3 times. this will help the lock to reset its position.
Be sure there should not be any broken part it drive.
