It would be a replacement for the one that came with the Actiontec DSL from qwest. Right now we have to make sure it is plugging in completely horizontally or we lose the internet. Thanks.

I build computers and have a good understanding about them. My desktop has an ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard with an AMD Athlon XP 1.6ghz processor. 512MB RAM, 2 80GB EIDE HDDs, and an ATI ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 7500. (Among other things).

The computer does some strange things. If you leave it plugged in, the power light (and, thus, the computer's power) will flicker on and off at a slow yet increasing speed. This will happen whether or not you press the power button. When it finally powers up and remains powered constantly, the computer (I assume the motherboard speaker) beeps sporatically. Any ideas? Feel free to contact me (REAL EXPERTS ONLY) if you have experienced this with this MB/CPU.

My guess is that it is an old power supply (300W), which has been running for at LEAST 3 years, but I'm not sure. If this is the problem, should I get a more powerful one? Thanks.

OK, my wife bought a used Ipod NaNo at a garage sale. I hooked it up my computer, and a few nights later, everything was fried!! I lost my processor, motherboard, and I don't know what else. There was an electrical storm the night before I found these problems, so I believe that's what fried my system. But the wife believes the Ipod has something to do with it. And now that I have bought a new computer, she will not allow the Ipod to be hooked up to it. The easy way out I know, is to chuck the Ipod and buy a new one. But I'm a cheap S.O.B. Any thoughts?

When you start up my computer (before you get to the welcome screen) it tells you Hardware monitor found an error enter power setup menu for details. F1 to continue F2 to enter menu. Well, I've went into the menu but dont know what to do to fix the problem. And if you just ignore that it said that and go on bout your business evetually the tower shuts off, the moitor will stay on, along with the speakers, and printer. But the tower shuts off and you cannt push the button to turn the power back on. You have to unplug the tower for a minute, and then the push the button to turn power back on. Please any assist would be great.

I'm at my uncle's house now, and the speakers on his computer won't work. He doesn't care, but for whatever reason, I do. I've tried a few things, but I'm really at a loss on what to do. I suppose there's the possibility that they're just shot, but they're coming on and you get static from them, just nothing else. Even if the speakers were busted, you'd get a little sound.

Sometimes the screen goes all blue and there's a lot of text that is white... the blue screen flashes too quickly to read much, but I have noticed something with the USB driver? I looked at my device manager and here's what it looks like (i'm not sure if it's supposed to look like this or what?):

Yeah I know laptops rn on batteries, butI don't know the voltages that those batteries supply.

Also for desktops.
Of courseI know that your Processor and chips run on DC, so powersupply is there to convert convert AC to the required DC levels.

But what is the required DC voltage? And how can it be done? Like hhow to bypass all the circuitry?
