Hello people. Does anyone know how I can transfer video footage from numerous video tapes onto my computer at home. Will I need to buy a new Video Player especially for this task? or will I have to buy a new card to add onto my computer box which allows data from the video via a scart lead??

Can anyone help me out ??? Thanks

I have had a 95 desktop for a long time. It was upgraded to 98 in teh past with a cd, and it's decent, it's been ok. It crashes on occasion and videos suck, also I got a new webcam that can't work on it, (it's missing a lot of internal files) I can't even get the new yahoo messenger because of it. Although it's not state of the art, it works.

I am looking at a computer on a website to buy, it's about 514 dollars and has about ten times the harddrive space, but I would hate to spend a lot of money for an all new computer, keyboard and all when there are components in my current one that are still ok. I would hate the thought of just junking that current computer, I want to make the best use of the good parts still in my computer and possibly transfer them to a new one so I don't have to buy as much, does anyone know how I go about that? I don't know how to build computers.

Seagate says it failed because of an electrical problem on a drive chip. So I don't think the storage media itself is damaged.

I've got my dads PC that is infected with virueses etc and has been running slow for ages now. I've taken everything off that he needs and am ready to create a new partition and reload everything back on. But when i boot from a XP Home CD I have (I'll be using the Genuine XP Key on the case), it starts analysing hardware but then just reboots, asking me to press any key t boot from CD again?? Whats going on? I've even tried a freshly formatted (in NTFS) HD in there, in case the original is currupted in some way but this time an error appears before rebooting stating "NTCongif" is missing. Any help or suggestions appreciated. before you ask the compnay that my Dad got this PC off did not give him any CD's.... not even the OS CD. I'm not too bothered about this because most drivers etc can be downloaded from packard bells site. The PC in question is.... http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?pn=P480402601&g=2000

This headset, made by Dasan, partially works. When I press the mute or vol up/down buttons on its control panel, on myscreen, it shows the sound muted on the sound manager icon on the taskbar and the sliders move up and down on the sound manager screen, but no sound comes through the earpiece and the mike doesn't seem to work - I have the compatible software and service pack 2 which is reccommended. It is supposed to be P&P so there is no drivers to install.
Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanx

Puretracks download, legal and paid.
Tracks download fully, but when using Windows MP to burn from Windows MP to CD, 2 or 3 of the tracks burn only about half way through then cut off, even though WMP indicates it "burned" OK. This has happened on 3 Maxell CD's that I've tried in past 2 days. Just 38 minutes of recording on an 80 minute CD.
WMP is OK, it plays video and audio from other CD's just fine.
The same scenario happened once previous from Puretracks as well. Could it be the Maxell CD's? Media player burn quality is set to highest, "lossless" level.

I have a Dell Pentium 4 I bought in 2002 - I have to run the standard Microsoft Office suite and other programs like SPSS, which is a memory hog. I also want to surf the web without having to wait a day for the pages to come up. I'm open for suggestions on fixing the existing computer (preferable) or buying something fast but inexpensive. What do you think?
