This headset, made by Dasan, partially works. When I press the mute or vol up/down buttons on its control panel, on myscreen, it shows the sound muted on the sound manager icon on the taskbar and the sliders move up and down on the sound manager screen, but no sound comes through the earpiece and the mike doesn't seem to work - I have the compatible software and service pack 2 which is reccommended. It is supposed to be P&P so there is no drivers to install.
Can anyone suggest anything?

Check your multymedia properties and or soudcard properties make sure the mic. and aux out are enabled also check direct X setup and troubleshooter by pressing "F1" check and recheck read all and you will find the problem

Get a headset that plugs into your sound card. USB does not do sound well, nor does it interface into your sound card (different components and software). Standard headsets are cheap (about £5.00/$7.00) and it will do the job saving you alot of grief

if no sound comes out at all, doesn't sound like there is a problem with the HEADSET driver. Sounds like you don't have SOUND CARD driver installed. Reinstall your sound card driver.
