I'm looking into putting together a new system, and the board I'm looking at using has 4xSATA II 3gb plugs and 2 IDE ATA133 channels. Is it possible to use both of these setups at the same time, or will the BIOS only take one type at a time?

This laptop worked fine until two weeks ago when it would not boot up. When hit the power button, the green power light and the hard drive light comes on but that is all it does.

i have a Laptop with a Dvd rewritable drive
silly maybe.. but how do i write files to a dvd instead of a cd-r/rw? i could get 4.7gb on a disc instead of 700mb.... i have been trying it for ages.. but dvd drive won't let me use anything but cdr-rw's.... what am i doing wrong? Many thanks for helping... lovely people...!!

I want a laptop that is nice and one that will still be able to function nicely after 4 years (u know how laptops will be out of date fast cuz i bought a laptop 3 years ago but it can't use wireless internet!)
I think MACBOOK is really nice (white and clean) but is it HARD TO USE?
What other brands do you recommend? Sony VAIO? I'm living in Asia so i'm ok with Asian brands too
I'm a girl so i prefer laptops that are small, easy to carry and the BATTERY life should last long without the charger (so i can use it in public places/class/any place without plugs)

I have a Western Digital USB Harddrive Model:WD1200B014 and i accidentally deleted the partition when i was reinstalling windows on my pc. I had transfered all of my important data on to this drive and i was wondering if it was possible to repartition the drive without formatting it? and if possilbe can i do it without spending too much money? I want to save the data without having to buy a program and a new haddrive.

I have an ACER Travelmate 250. It's got a P4 processor, bog standard memory and bog standard everything else. When I bought it it ran ok, nothing special but it did the basics and surfed the web. Have had it for 2 years and the thing just seems to have got gradually slower and slower booting up and running programs. I had a huge problem with virus and adware that took me ages to get rid of. I have norton, but had to get rid of it cos it was just working to slowly. I think its gradually got worse over time.

The main prob is when you turn it on it takes about 5 mins too boot up everything and you just have to wait for ages (about 8 when I had to wait for Norton to boot itself up). Then other programs that used to run ok (like football manager) now run much much slower. I have done all the spybot cc cleaner on a regular basis and they show up nothing. Its almost like the memory and the harddrive work slower then they used too. Is there anything I should just buy new?

I've tried unistalling it and reinstalling it, downloading a new one from DriverGuide.com and i cleaned my registry but the driver still has a yellow exclamation mark with the code 39. I need help...I NEED SOUND!!!

Last time I tried (2002), I gave up because Speedstep wasn't working under Linux and the CPU was always functionning at full speed, which reduced the battery life by a third or so. Is it still the case?

Today I turned on my 20" iMac G5 and I saw smoke coming out of the computer. The fan came on very loud like a jet. Then the screen was flashing and I smelled something that was like burning rubber coming from the computer. I am now concerned that if I turn on this iMac again and leave it alone it will catch my house on fire. Has anyone heard of problems like this one.

How long does data last (data retention) on a 128mb flash drive, without being plugged in - just left in a box

Well, answers like "forever" aren't much use. I understand it would last years and years, but this is going to be for a time capsule (perhaps 100 years). Would USB flash last that long?
