II am currently looking at the black Apple Macbook 2GHz- Is this any good? I'm in college will use the laptop primarily for email, music, papers, and research. I have a Gateway now that is a total piece of crap and have not had luck with Dells either.

Can I just take it into a computer place to have this done? I keep getting the message that memory is low, but I don't want to delete anything. I want to keep it all.

I am trying to install a new printer but i keep getting the same error message (cannot install this hardware.....the specified port is unkown).
by the way that's the second printer that i am trying to install, in the beginning i thought that the first printer was deffective so i got another one, yet still getting the same message.
please note that the computer is recognizing the usb cable and the little icon is showing on the toolbar, i also used that usb port for other hardware (camera) and it works fine.
i tried to plug the printer in other usb cable but still having the same error.
any help please.

okay, I was on here the other day asking about memory for a windows Me, and it was helpful thanks, but know I need some more help, I put the (me) in another computer, a compaq deskpro workstation, with a pent:(4) in it, it has 256 mb of ram, now, I went to crucial.com and had my computer checked this is what they told me,
my
cpu speed was 1681 mhz
front side bus was 400 mhz
memory in the computer now was 256 mb ram
and that i can hold up to 2048 mb of ram in the computer
they said that I needed Rambus memory
that they did not carry that kind of memory,
so I went to compaq, they said go to rambus.com, so I went to rambus.com, but I still did not find out what I was looking for,
the question is is there any compatible memory that will work with the rambus memory, and if there is where can I find some, and does or will it cost a lot,
also another question, is there another place like crucial, that will scan, my computer, so i can find out just what I need, thanks

I have removed the cover of external cdrw and connected spare wires from the system. Now both my old cd drive and new converted are not visible in the my computer folder.

Please advise the if any software is required

My old computer was a Dell Dimension 4100 desktop with Windows ME. New computer is Athlon AMD X2 4600 dual-core running Windows XP 64-bit edition. I can run dvd's burned on old computer using Nero and some cd's but not others (when I put it into either dvd drive on new computer it says corrupted data or unreadable, but when I put it in old computer it can read them).

How can I transfer the data from these "unreadable" cd's to the new computer without having to transfer them all back to the old computer and re-burn onto new dvd's or cd's using Nero? (When I burned the cd's I closed the sessions - not multi-session dics - they are CD-R's).

I have a 1.2 gig AMD processor - been doing good with that for maybe three years partly because I have a gig of memory and a 128 Mb ATI video card. But the minimums on gaming software keep going up. I wonder if there is a relationship between software makers like EA, and AMD or Pentium?

i know if you have too much or too little you might cause damage by component failure such as a burn out from too much voltage . im certain too little with cause the unit to fail to opperate and too much might might burn it up?. same with amperage . if not enought you may not get unit to work . but if its more shouldnt it work . you have 15 amp current in your home power but you use only the part of it that the product needs to function. what is right .? can i use a power supply that is stronger than stated in the requirements ?. more volts and/or more amps ? . please help im creating a pc network of old pcs and spare equipment for a church youth group and need to use anythig i can to make it work.

I go to turn it on and it will only after I turn it on and off 60 times. The power button will go green, but the monitor stays blank, and like I said it will go on 1 in 60 times (not an actualy number just a guess) but when I do get it on it works perfect...until I have to turn it off again then I have to go through the process all over.

I have a Memorex 6136u scanner and I already downloaded the programm from memorex.com and installed it but when I go to Control Panel and try to ad a scanner in Printers and Scanners folder it doesn't show me file I downloaded. what should I do? I don't have the CD with hardware

I have finally added it to the scanners and cameras folder in control panel but now when I doubleclick on scanner sign it says that status is anavailable and I still can't make it work

my compaq laptop keeps shutting itself off. Its beginning to happen more frequently. I thought it was overheating but now it will shutdown after its only been on for a minute. I know the fans are running, and i haven't recently installed any new hardware or software. Any help would be greatly appreciated

i have a amd althlon xp 1800 that runs at 1.53 ghzs i wnat to upgrade to a amd athlon xp 2600 that runs at 2.13 ghzs is that much of i speed chage and will i see a differine. compaq told me the highest i could upgrad the pressor to is the 2600. thank you
