need some help about my memory and Rambus?

okay, I was on here the other day asking about memory for a windows Me, and it was helpful thanks, but know I need some more help, I put the (me) in another computer, a compaq deskpro workstation, with a pent:(4) in it, it has 256 mb of ram, now, I went to crucial.com and had my computer checked this is what they told me,
my
cpu speed was 1681 mhz
front side bus was 400 mhz
memory in the computer now was 256 mb ram
and that i can hold up to 2048 mb of ram in the computer
they said that I needed Rambus memory
that they did not carry that kind of memory,
so I went to compaq, they said go to rambus.com, so I went to rambus.com, but I still did not find out what I was looking for,
the question is is there any compatible memory that will work with the rambus memory, and if there is where can I find some, and does or will it cost a lot,
also another question, is there another place like crucial, that will scan, my computer, so i can find out just what I need, thanks

Rambus memory is also referred to as RDRAM or RIMM. Unfortunately, many places do not sell rambus memory, and if you can find it, it is very expensive.

When you buy rambus memory, you must have all of the slots filled. Slots you wouldn't normally put a continuity RIMM (or C-RIMM) so the slot will work correctly. You must also pair up the memory modules with the same size memory modules.

You probably have two 128MB memory modules in the computer with two C-RIMMS. In order to have the maximum memory, you need four 512MB modules or two 1024MB(1GB) and two C-RIMMS.

The link I have included sells RDRAM, but I don't know if it is the correct ram for your PC.

Since ur ram speed is 400 mh, u can try out Zion 400 mh, DDR ram, it is available anywhere
