the phone jack on my laptops modem is looking pretty loose. i would like to know if this is something I can change myself. I do my own work on my desktop, but have never attempted anything on my laptop, other than memory. Any suggestions or sites where I can actually buy parts for a laptop.

I have an intel pentium 4 1.60 GHZ processor and I want to switch to an Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ. Will my motherboard be able to do the switch? If you want more info on my motherboard you might be out of luck I'm not sure where to check for and Unit # or whatever.

Hi. I have been searching for a while for a good laptop at a reasonable price. I came across a company on ebay http://www.york-corp.4-all.org/ and wondered if anyone knew about them?. They are offering laptops etc at almost half price - always too good to be true! I emailed asking why and the company said it's because they don't add taxes, send the item from USA to Nigeria where it is sent on to the buyer classed as a gift. Is this fraud or a genuine company?. Thanks !

are there any other free downloadable 3d benchmarking tools like 3dmark
i have tried 3dmark but as i am only using a radeon 9250 ,3d mark 2001 is about the only decent one,as the others require pixel and shader model 2.0 and the 9250 only used 1.4
any ideas

it works great, but i have a problem with the sound. I cant hear anything, and i think it is because of the audio drivers or the sound card. Has to take still images - but not that good as do not want to lose video quality

I have a PC about 10 years old consisting of; Cyrix 166+ Processor, Motherboard, 2D Graphics Card, Voodoo 2 Graphics Card, 48Mb EDO RAM, Metal Tower Case, 104 key AT/XT (non P/S2) Keyboard. What would be an environmental way to dispose of this, other than landfill? They do not meet Computer Aid's minimum standards for donation.
