how many animals are in zoo tycoon 2? do you unlock more animals as the game goes on? Or are you stuck with the same animals throught the game?

If you have ZT2 and the 2 expansion packs (African Adventure & Endangered Species) there is a total of 72 animals. The breakdown of each are as follows. ZT2; 32 (w/Musk ox download), Af. Adv.; 20 and End. Sp.; 20. Each animal has a Zoo fame rank from 1/2 a star to 5 stars in 1/2 star increments. At each level more animals are , as you put it, unlocked unless you play a freeform game then EVERY animal is available.
