My laptop crashed but we think the hard-drive is intact. Is it possible to recover all the programs and saved information I had by just transfering hard-drives?

PS my latptop crashed because my son insersted a popsicle stick into my cd drive and it scratched the mother-board, but they think my harddrive is still intact.

yes... as long as the hard drive wasn't damaged.

If all the important files are stored in your bad hard drive, you can not expect your files will be there in your new hard drive. You should use a file recovery software to try to back up your bad drive first. Then, reformat the drive to see if it works.

I wouldn't see why not. What do you think crashed if it wasn't your harddrive?
