No scheduled tasks, no UPS, and no virus.but still shuts down at 3:12am each morning.

you might have a scheduled shutdown time in scheduled tasks or another program. I know that on a UPS with scheduled testing, the UPS is doing it just to make shure the battery still works.

Is there any schedule running in ure machine.Check that ....
Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks

Check your power saving mode, and see if it is set to shut down at that particular time

May b u r having virus in ur system. U can download Avast antivirus from www.avast.com
Its a free antivirus and it is very effective too.

you can program it to shut it self off if you did not do this it was already in the program when you got it.
