it works great, but i have a problem with the sound. I cant hear anything, and i think it is because of the audio drivers or the sound card. I am using a Multimedia audio controller, but it does not seem to be working. Can anyone help me? provide info on what i can do to solve this problem. thanks.

I had the exact same problem with an older PC. It turns out, the computer kept recognizing the modem as the sound card (a fairly easy mistake), and so it in turn couldn't figure out what my soundcard was. I spent several days trying to get everything in order, and eventually had to resort to reformating. I hope yours is a much easier fix, but I'd take a look to see that it's not recognizing a modem, or an older model multimedia card as your sound card.

Find the install disk for the sound card and check if it'll install on XP.

Otherwise you need to see if an update is available on-line. Some budget cards are not too good with that. You may have to check the sound card for chip set and manufacturer.

You need to download the correct drivers for the audio controller. You can get them from the PC manufacturer site or http://www.driverguide.com, if you know the chipset on the audio controller.
