Well...personally i love my dell, but there are some pretty amazing super computers out there working for major companies. For example, the leading fastest and best super computer is named BlueGene/L formerly known as BlueGene. This computer can do some pretty amazing things but is mainly used for testing, like building smaller and faster computer chips.
IBM dominates the top 500 supercomputers list of 06.

If you're looking for a PC style computer... Dell. It might be more useful to ask yourself what you want to use a computer for. Computers differ in many characteristics, so is often useful to know what kind of thing you'd like to do on your computer and how frequently you'd like to be able to do them, as well as who will be using your computer.

That would depend on you and your plans for the machine. Personally, I am very leery of the "off the shelf" machines be it Dell,Gateway,Compaq,H.P.,and so forth. While it may take a good amount of research, I've always preferred to build my own from the components I select.. Best of luck! :-)=
