Hello all. I have a $450 computer from walmart that I purchased about 2 or 3 years ago and it seemed rather slow but I thought it was just the price or something. But when I was looking on dell.com I was reading tabout this monitor that had all these great features inclouding the ability to multitask with ease. And then I was wondering if I took my school computer monitor(I home school) and used it if it would help me out cuzz I play games, watch movies in high def, ect... Does the monitor affect how fast the user can be productive, the cpu, or a little bit of both? Thanks for reading

Hello,
I was thinking of buying a new computer. This one:

Intel Core processor Duo T2300E (2MB Cache/1.66GHz/667MHz FSB)
Is this a pretty decent one? Can I do video editing and photo editing on it?

I'm no computer wiz - so answer in layman's terms if possible. i had a 200 gig Maxtor 3100 external hard drive that no longer works because i think the power unit burned out. its still under waranty, maxtor will replace if i can show them data recovery was done by a genuine business, regardless of their method. one place would charge me $70 to install the hard drive into my desk top, dump the contents into it (presuming they wern't affected by the surge), and pull it back out. To do this, I have to either burn cds or butmore storage to make room. so i figured i'd use the money i'd pay the tech to buy more storage, and ask my brother (who from self teaching successfully installed disk drives and ram into his own pc) to install the external into my pc, thereby giving me a huge hard drive in my computer and an external for back up. is this possible for a person with general knowledge to do? are there potential complicating factors? could it cause complication down the road?

I have turned it off and restarted, I've disconnected the entire thing, etc. but still it only blinks on when the power is turned on and then goes blank again. What can cause this, is the monitor beyond repair?

I currently have a PC running WinXP and an external hard drive with various files on it, including home movies (in .mpg, .mpeg, or .avi format). I'm looking at getting a MacBook Pro and am wondering if those PC files on the external HD would be recognized and usable on the MacBook (assuming the HD is FAT32 formatted)?

I have a Compaq Digital Hinote VP 717 Model (1998) Laptop with 2 GB HD and 32 MB Ram. But the problem is I have no drivers for this and I can't Install WinXP on it. So kindly help me in finding the drivers for Win 98, 2000 or XP and How I can Install XP on it?. The Second thing is with the CD ROM, It is being DEAD every day. I started with a Commadore 64, then got an Apple...then about 12 years ago, switched to Windows n Dell. Now I'm looking to get a new pc. I've got a ton of Photoshop, Flash MX, Video Editing, Front Page, Excel...those type applications...so if I make the change...I'll need to start over.
