This could be a cooling issue, check your fans and dust out your system. I saw one system the other day that did this because of the massive amount of dust, even though the fans were still turning.
Also try starting the computer in safe mode and see if it works then or locks up without restarting. A bad XP install will cause this sort of action. Sometimes there is a bios option that tells the system to restart on error, you can turn this off to help diagnose the problem.

If the computer is rebooting before it gets into Windows that usually means either you have a bad piece of hardware, a bad hardware driver, or there is a missing or corrupted file needed to boot Windows. If you just reinstalled, then it most likely not the first.
First try bringing the PC up in Safe Mode, so it bypasses at lot of the drivers and files. Turn the PC on and begin to press the F8 button repeatedly until you get a menu page where you can select Safe Mode. If you are able to boot into Safe Mode, then trying rebooting normally. Just getting into Windows once will resolve some issues.
If you can not get into Safe Mode, or it continues to reboot after that, you may have to reinstall Windows. It is most likely an issue with the Windows install since it started after the last reinstall.

Don't install your internet providers anti-virus program with another. They contradict each other causing your pc to shut down.
