Hello all. I have a $450 computer from walmart that I purchased about 2 or 3 years ago and it seemed rather slow but I thought it was just the price or something. But when I was looking on dell.com I was reading tabout this monitor that had all these great features inclouding the ability to multitask with ease. And then I was wondering if I took my school computer monitor(I home school) and used it if it would help me out cuzz I play games, watch movies in high def, ect... Does the monitor affect how fast the user can be productive, the cpu, or a little bit of both? Thanks for reading

A monitor can not change the speed or how well a computer can multi-task. Perhaps they just mean that multi-tasking is easy becuase the monitor is so big.

For movie editing! 2 of the SAME screens will help! but watching a movie on 2 screens is like death! Get 2 LCD with very narrow sides so you can connect them and have less dead space. Get a DUAL DVI port Graphic card that supports 2 screens! that will help! not ur CPU! but Movie editing requires resources! Get the fastest CPU that you can afford! even better Dual core CPU!! with 64bit technology!! It will make you very happy! Don forget HDD space 15K RPM HDD make you computer boot up less than 10 seconds! SATA 3.0! You cant go wrong with that! if you do your part right!! :)

nope the monitor doesnt effect anything 2 do with the running speed of the pc. i use 2 monitors to multitask.. since monitor has dual connections so i just drag an application across to the other monitor.

No , its perfectly ok two use dual monitors , even three. But you can run two apps at the same time. But you can't run two programs on the same PC at the same time. Even on two monitors, becuase only linux can do that and a certain windows software. Like, you can put MS WORD on one monitor and Windows MEDIA player at the other, this is ok. But you can't put NFS MOST WANTED on one monitor and GTA _SA on the other.
one has to be minimized before other can be used.

The monitor dont have naything to do with perfomance like that.. some of the things that will cause your computer to run is low RAM, processor, spyware, viruses, if it is about 2 or 3 years old you most likely dont have a lot of ram in it... suggestions buy more ram upgrade processor, and clean your hard drive of spywares or virues
