When I try to access files on the host computer (in the network) from the client computer (in the network), it says this:
\\(host computer name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network name cannot be found.

When I get on the host computer, and try to access the client computer's files, it works completely fine.

I'm not sure, but I also think this is why I can't get my client computer to be able to print in the network (printer is connected to the host). I do add printer, and go to the network, type the printer name, click next, then a password pop-up thing comes up. My host doesn't have a password at all XD... when i try to let if find the network printer, it doesn't come up at all (it used to)... how do I fix all this?!?

Please help me, and please describe the steps on how to fix this like... clearly :)

I want to share my internet connection to my friend in such a way that it should appear to us that we all wave direct connection and the main thing is to play online games (a HTTP,FTP or SOCKS proxy won't be enough). But, if i just turn on the ICS I'm afraid that my ISP will find out (I'm not allow to share my connection). As someone told me, it seems that there is something that I need so my ISP will never know that I'm sharing my connection. Thanks for helping me.

I have sbc yahoo dsl, with the old wired home portal. i just bought a linksys router (wrt54gl) and was trying to install it. i almost got through the setup but at the last step, it couldnt detect an internet connection. after trying everything i could think of, i gave up and disconnected the router to go back to the 2wire modem. the only problem is that now it's not working either! all the lights are green except for the broadband link, which is solid orange (not blinking). i know it means that there's dsl, it just can't connect to the isp. i made sure to reconnect all the wires correctly, i powercycled it, tried restarting everything but it hasn't worked. i'm pretty sure i changed internal settings while trying to setup the router, so i thought i'd reinstall the sbc software. The only problem is i can't find the sbc cd! is there anyway i can fix the modem without the cd? can i download the cd image from anywhere? it's a pain especially since sbc yahoo dsl is now at&t dsl. help??

I tried to share my printer, but it screwed up my wireless connection somehow. I have a wireless router connected to my cable modem. I have one wireless desktop running windows xp with an HP Photosmart C5180 printer connected via USB. I have one wireless laptop running windows vista. Both computers are accessing the internet fine. I want to be able to print from my laptop to the printer connected to the desktop. I tried going through the network wiz on the desktop and then it wouldn't connect to the internet anymore. I was able to get that problem resolved by renaming the router and setting up the connections on both computers again, but i still can't figure out how to print to the printer from the laptop. Can anyone help?

I have a linksys wireless router and I would like to be able to connect my USB cup warmer to it. Is this possible? I see there is a USB connection on the router. Can I just plug it in and the cup warmer will pick up an IP address? Basically I want to be able to control it from my wireless laptop in my bedroom. So I can wake up and use the laptop to turn my cup warmer on, and then I will have a nice hot cup of Joe when I head downstairs to my main computer.

In our office we recently installed a common server and everyone is connected to the server. We have one printer between 7 machines and every morning it gets held up and blocks everyone from printing. Because of which we have to call our engineer which is waste of time. Is there any way i can resolve this issue without calling anyone. (I tried deleting print jobs which blocks the printer but it doesn't help)

my pc is the printer server with a static connection. one day all client workstations cannot print to the printer. I have been checked all the possibilities caused by this problem (USB cable, NIC, printer). I've also tried other pc as a printer server. The only solution was a format all clients pc's. It there any solution other than formating? It is caused by by virus infection or in the network? It there anyone who experienced and solved this problem? Please share you ideas, experience and knowledge.

I need to know if 50 kb/sec download 20 kb/sec upload for 40$ a month is a reasonable price for that speed. And if not, what speed should i be getting for 40$ a month and what should i do about it.
and cable isnt avaible in my area, and i wouldnt get it n e way ive heard bad things about it. what should i do??!?! complain to them or what?
and i did complain to them before one time, and they came over and checked it out and saying i was actually gettin FASTER than what other people r getting

does anyone have an idea i what should i do about this? should i complain to them or something? can i run some legal law suit.

I have a 2WIRE wireless router with a single ethernet port.
I have 2 devices that need to be plugged into that port at the same time/function at the same time (to be available for access wireless e.g. two printers)

Is there a way for me to accomplish that or do I have to get a new wireless router with multiple LAN ports?

Okay, so I'm gonna get Hughes Net (high speed satellite internet), and I want to create a wireless network at my house. How can I do this?

Been looking for a simple NAS device for the home network that I could serve a USB drive through. All the ones I've seen so far run $100 which seems sorely overpriced for an ethernet port and a USB socket... especially considering the price of home routers these days, which are probably more technically sophisticated.
