I tried to share my printer, but it screwed up my wireless connection somehow. I have a wireless router connected to my cable modem. I have one wireless desktop running windows xp with an HP Photosmart C5180 printer connected via USB. I have one wireless laptop running windows vista. Both computers are accessing the internet fine. I want to be able to print from my laptop to the printer connected to the desktop. I tried going through the network wiz on the desktop and then it wouldn't connect to the internet anymore. I was able to get that problem resolved by renaming the router and setting up the connections on both computers again, but i still can't figure out how to print to the printer from the laptop. Can anyone help?

Start - Settings - Printers and fAxes
Right click on the Printer and select Properties
Select the Sharing Tab
Share the printer and give it a name.
Click OK.

Go to the Laptop and
Start - Settings - Printers and Faxes
Click Add a Printer.
Follow the directions to search for the printer.
It should appear.
Click on it and then continue. It will set up the Printer Driver on y our laptop.
Once the printer is added, you should be able to
print to it.
(Remember that both computers and the printer must be on for this to work.)

Can you see the wired computer from the wireless? Are you sharing any files? If you are your WORKGROUP is OK, if you can't see it, check to make sure you're in the same one.

If your printer is connected to the wired computer, it has to be SHARED first. You'll have to give it a share-name (C5180 would work). I would put a password on it to keep others from printing to it if you think that would be a problem.

Then from the wireless, do a ADD PRINTER... connected to another computer. you should be able to browse to it but the name Will be WireComputerName/C5180

But then I don't have a lot of experience in Vista, so hope it works like XP.
