Basically, I have this curiousness about the internet and it is regarding ISP. Firstly, since there are so much major internet companies out there, I wondering if it is possible to start my internet company and compete with major internet companies such as Rogers, Bell Sympatico, and Vonage! Secondly, how does one buy a "backbone" or a connection to the webserver to establish a connection for the public through my ISP.


Please do not consider this as a joke because I am looking for a reasonable answer; therefore, I am seriously looking for a very detailed answer that relates to this sitution! Thank you.

Hi All.. : )

Right ive got a Nintendo DS Original and a m3 simply card.
When i try and connect to my wireless router with an original DS card (Mario Kart) I have no problem what so ever also if i try and connect to the router using a backup (Mario Kart) on the m3 simply card i have no problem.
BUT...
If io try and connect via any home brew Apps ive downloaded i have no luck at all..
So my router isnt the problem.
Ive tried with and with out WEP on.
Tried DHCP ip and STATIC.
No Firewall on router.
Please Help as i cant find anything on the net about this that acually helps me..Im comp lit so im fairly sure as to what im doing altho networking does puzzle me at times..

We have some old IBM 4230 impact printers. They currently connected to our AS400 via a twinax connection. They have a parallel and serial connection. We would like to eliminate the old hubs and connect via Ethernet. Any suggestions?

It is taking soooo long to pull up pages, and internet sites! When I click on my internet connection logo, it shows the 'packets' between 50. and 70. which my husband says is WAY too low (too slow). Does anyone know how to remedy this problem, I'm going crazy waiting for everything to load!!! Help!!!
Oh, .. I am running High Speed (Time Warner/Road Runner) service.

We have dsl and a linksys wireless router.. so me and my brother can both be on the internet..
earlier today i shut off the modem and kept the router on
and well now the internet is working fine for me < im going straight from the router , not using wireless > but my brother cant pick up the signal.
I have everything plugged in right and all the lights that should be on are on the modem and the router...

this is how i have it hooked up and have always had it hooked up
the phone line goes to the modem. then an ethernet cable goes from the modem into the router , then an ethernet cable goes from the router into my computer and it works fine but my bro cant pick up the signal
any suggestions?

I am using windows xp on both computers. Can I transfer files from the one pc to the other with an Ethernet cable with some help from software or something without using my router? I have a laptop and a desktop and I want to send files from my laptop to other computers without using routers or memory sticks... thnx in advance....

Laptop is running via wireless router, but I did this before and it worked perfectly. Now it wont run. I'm using a crossover cable, but now either i get no internet on either or just internet on the laptop.

I have 3 laptops ..2 with XP and one with 2000. the one with 2000 only sees some web pages on my wireless while the others see it all. why is this? i cant get to coach.com, google.com amounst many many others....if I installed Fedora core 4...will that work with my wireless??

My windows computer doesn't recognize and/or obtain the default gateway and thus my internet on that computer doesn't work. This is the first time that it has been acting like this. I was using the computer fine yesterday and nothing was wrong with it. It is connected through an Ethernet cable. I know it is not my hardware because I can access the Internet through my Linux distro. All of the other computers in the house work, but they are functioning through wireless connection. Any ideas as to why this occurs? If I open the connection settings, when I click close, it freezes, just that window, all the time. Don't know if that is relevant. I did ipconfig /release and renew and none have yet to help me. If you need any other info, just ask. I am using a laptop that is connected to my network to type this.

When I first purchased my Router, I made an unsecured wireless network. As time went on, I figured out how to make a secured network. I changed the name of the network, and then secured it. But now thers two networks running off of my router. One is the secured one, and one is the unsecured one. I want to get rid of the unsecured network, how can I do this?

I have networking that I haven't tried out yet and I want to access it outside my home. How can I tell if it is working? Would My anti virus and security block it and do I have to leave on my isp connection on all night and day and my computer does it need to be on. I sometimes work nights and like to get on my computer to do some work??????????? I won't know this till later any willing to help me.

I need to change or hide the Ip via internet in order to use some public services that anyone can use,

I already did the network setup wizard, I right click a folder on my client computer, and I put it up for sharing, and then I went to my hosting computer, I could see the files fine, but if I did it vice verca, It says that the client doesn't have enough like authority to do it, how do i change this? The client can't even see the "shared documents" folder... and you know when your in the network on windows explorer? and it shows workgroup computers (all the computers in the network) my client can't get into the host one cause of the pop up that says it doesn't have the privilige or something like that
