I have a printer and a external hard drive which I want to use on my wireless network without having to have another computer switched on. I have a very tight budget and need the cheapest solution available. I would be very great full to anyone who could help.

For the printer you need to purchase a wireless Print Server.

If your looking to network these there are a couple of things your going to have to do.

First the Printer
1.) Does it have a Ethernet connection?
If yes, then you can purchase a USB Wireless card for it so the router recognizes it.

2.) For the External HD? If it is using the same connectors mine does you would have to see if a special connector exists for it. Maybe if a Ethernet port is available on the HD you may be able to route a Ethernet wire to the wireless router.

3.) Connect these things to the machine you currently have or get a USB Hub to add them to the machine.

Your question is a little hard to answer without more details on what you do and do not have.

For standard usb printers and hard drives you must have a pc to connect them to. You would have been better buying a LAN ready printer and drive.
