I was wondering instead of stealing internet. Can't I create a profile on my wireless of my paid-internet computer and sue that internet? Or do U need a router? I have a Linksys, Phone router thing. I can't find the SSID from this computer so I can use that info for my laptop.

I have this router set up in my living room and I am trying to access the internet on my ps3 in my room which is not even 150 feet away from the router, yet I can only get about 1 or 2% signal strength (If I get lucky because it does not detect it at times). How can I increase the signal strength to my room.

By the way, I think two of my walls between the living room and my room are made out of concrete. And I cannot knock them down.

Is it true that the ps3 does not support N wireless connection? Will I be better off with a Wireless-G Linksys with speedbooster?

Do I have any other options?

I am trying to hook a wireless router into an existing wired router. So far, I am able to get all computers on the network to identify one-another, but can't connect to the internet. Also, I can't connect to the IP address of the wireless router (default should be 192.168.1.1). Any advice?

If I purchase a server that has gigabit nics installed and a gigabit switch on the network, if the server is transferring files to computers that have 10/100mbps, does that downgrade the entire network to 10/100? Or if 10 computers were trying to access the server at once, would they each get a 100mbps share of the 1000mbps that the server can put out?

I have a PC card for my laptop that gives me wireless internet over Verizon's BroadbandAccess network. I want to use the card to set up wireless internet in my home via a wireless router, ideally without using a dedicated computer.

If I do use an old laptop to run the PC card's drivers and provide the slot for the card, how can I channel the internet access from the card into a router? Can I connect my laptop's ethernet port to the Uplink port on the back of a wireless router? Would I need a crossover cable for that?

I can get online by connecting to a local network, but I have to do this each time my computer is turned on. Most people I know can just turn on their computers and have internet at their house. I have a Linksys wireless router connected to my cable modem. My Dell laptop is "internet ready" and the Notebook Adapter card that came with the router will not fit in my laptop. How can I establish a Local Area Connection? The "diagonsed" problem is that a cable is unplugged.

Ok here is the story. I have my modem and my router in my dining room. My 1st and 2nd pc's are also in my dining room connected to the router.

I was wondering if it would be possible to put a second router in a separate room which connects to the 1st router. The 2nd router would connect to my 360 and 3rd pc. What I am asking is, is it possible to connect two routers together and still get a internet connection for my 360 and 3rd pc?

I have a wired connection and here is a diagram, http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9264/routerqy2.gif .

I also could just use a hub for my 3rd pc and xbox 360 but the connection is always halved even if one system is off, a router allows for connections only when the system needs it.

I had someone say the other day that if I had a file open on a network drive that it would prevent other users from accessing the drive at all. Is that true? I have never heard or experienced this before since I opened up a file on the drive it was on and it told me it was being edited by another user and I could only look at the document. Could you please tell me of a situation(s) that this could happen when someone is on a network drive?

I was assigned to make a connection between two sites (A & B) with 512kbps dedicated lease line. Site A (2 DCs) and Site B (1 DC) integrated with Sites and Services configurations. Site A is at 192.168.0.x whereas Site B is at 192.168.3.x. DHCP server is at Site A's DC2. My question is how do I configure the DHCP Server so that the clients in Site B can obtain 192.168.3.x instead of 192.168.0.x? DHCP Superscope? How do I configure both end of the lease line routers? Should I configure the relay agent on the routers? Please advise. Thank you in advance.
