Hyperterminal is a way to automate a telnet session, which is basically what you're trying to initiate. Your host address is where you want to connect to, say a remote computer.

Obtain the IP info from the remote host and make sure that telnet access is allowed through the router or on the local machine.

What are you connecting to and how?

If you are using a serial cable, you connect via the 9 pin serial port of a computer or via a pcmcia or usb to serial connector. If you are doing this, you specify your pc's com port.

If you are connectin via the ethernet port, you would be connecting via TCP / IP you must specify the IP address of the remote host to which you wish to connect (e.g. you want to connect to a LAN device w IP 192.168.1.92 you put that IP there; if you want to connect to a public IP 66.66.72.85 you put that IP there). If you are connecting via telent port 23 is used and this is the default.

When you entered ipconfig /all you were shown the IP address of ports on your pc; you don't telnet to your own pc but to others. You need to find out the IP of the host

If you write a new message asking what you are trying to achieve telling us what you wish to do, we can help more.

The ip address should be for the remote machine, not your own. Port 23 is the telnet port, very few people use this nowadays as it is very insecure. Unless you have a specific use for Hyperterminal, like remote access to a server etc, it has no use.
