I enabled the WPA-PSK encryption with a password but it doesn't connect. I can connect when I disable all encription. what's wrong with the WPA?

here's my setup:
-linksys wireless-B router version 4
-router firmware ver 1.52.02
-using channel 1 to avoid other linksys signals
-changed SSID to avoid other linksys signals
-IBM laptop
-Win XP op system service pack 2

(my wireless signal is slow and choppy lately. the channel and the SSID are different to avoid other linksys signals. I decided to turn on WPA encryption to make it secure.)

I intended to use it to access the internet in a concrete two stories building with a cable modem in order to use mi laptop wireless in the first floor and a pc in the second floord via ethernet. I´m afraid of buying one that cannot work cause the concrete walls inside the building don´t allow the wireless signal reach my laptop.

I have SBC Yahoo DSL, and my modem is a Siemens Speedstream 4100. I connect through a D-Link 604 router, which carries my computer, another computer, and an XBox. I don't know why, but a few times a day, the Ethernet light will turn off on the Speedstream and my whole connection goes down. When I do an ipconfig, it shows my IP as 192.168.1.64 instead of the 192.168.1.101 of my router. Before you ask, I have my modem set to PPP on the modem and my router is set to receive the dynamic IP of the modem. Does anybody know what's going on?

Hi, I have an older gateway pc which has 2 front and 2 rear usb1.1 ports. I want to get BT homehub and connect wirelessly.

I know I can get an external usb2 wireless adapter - if I bought one of these would I need to change my pci card to a usb2 version or would this work with my present set up & if so with any loss of performance?

Is an external usb2 wireless adapter as good as fitting a wireless pci adapter internally?

Hope this is fairly clear as not very up on this.

Hi,

I'm trying to network my laptop(wireless) to my wired Pc via a Zyxel P-660 D1 router, I can use the internet but when trying to find one or the other on workgroups, they can't seem to find each other.

Has anyone ever had any trouble with this sort of thing and knows how to resolve this problem.

Regards

Hi all...
I recently moved, and I used to have cable internet at my old place. My wireless router was working fine, but now that I switched to dsl at this new place, it doesn't seem to find a connection when I plug the modem into the router...

I've pretty much tried everything... I've tried resetting the router, unplugging it for a few minutes, but nothing's worked...
The wireless router I have is a Netgear WGR614.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have SBC/ATT/Yahoo DSL. FOR MONTHS I have had problems with my internet cutting off, not being able to access Yahoo messenger or download yahoo email to outlook, etc. They have come out and checked the lines and last time they said the lines were okay and the problem is with the DSL hub for the subdivision or maybe the modem? Then, all of a sudden, everything was okay for several months and now here we go again... How can I tell if its the modem? Maybe its my computer? Time to switch DSL companies? Please advise!
