On your spare computer you need to enable the LAN card to receive a IP address from the router using DHCP.

To do this follow the step by step instructions.

-Goto control panel
-Open network connections
-Right Click on the connection you are using and select properties
-scroll down until you see "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and select it and click on properties
-On the General Tab make sure the Obtain IP Address Automatically and the Obtain DNS Server address automatically option are selected
-Also click on the advanced button and on the IP Settings tab DHCP Enabled should be displayed
-Save that and that should do it. Plug the ethernet cable from the router to the computer and you should connect.
