i just bought another computer, and i have a cable modem how do i run both of my pc's on this one cable modem

You cant unless it is a modem/router combo unit. Purchase a cheap router and connect the routers WAN (internet) port to the modem and the computers to the routers ethernet ports.

Set the router up to connect to your cable isp and that should do it....

You will need a router, that's the easiest way. You plug the network cable currently in the back of your computer into the uplink on the router, then you plug the two computers into one of the four open ports on the router. You can pick one up for $40 or so and it will give you wireless cabability too. Try Linksys. Here is a list of available routers at different prices.
