Most people leave it on. It uses very little energy.

I now turn mine off as I've just had to buy my 2nd router in just over 14 months. apparently the warrentee is only 12 months then you have to buy another one. Unless you have a contract with say BT that covers calls, broadband and the router.
I understand the router will last longer if it's not switched on all the time. fingers crossed otherwise its going to cost me every 14 months.

We have 2 wireless modems in our house (LOOONG story!) and leave both on - much more convenient when I need to check the weather forecast from bed on my laptop in the morning before I get up!!

I switch mine off. I have all the equipment routed from one switch and turn it off when finished.
This saves energy; the penalty is it often takes a minute or two to settle down after switching on.
Your choice!

I find it best to leave on,will use very little power. Some wireless routers reset themselves when you turn them off.In the rare event you are using a livebox(Orange),it will reset itself when you turn off.Depends which router you are using i guess!

if i'm not using it .. it goes off.. save a few pennies.

esp. if i was to use wireless, as someone might be trying to get the encrpytion password.. so less time its on, less chance of them trying it..

hopefully you use yours with WPA encrpytion, or one of your neighbours might be using your connection
