I have networking that I haven't tried out yet and I want to access it outside my home. How can I tell if it is working? Would My anti virus and security block it and do I have to leave on my isp connection on all night and day and my computer does it need to be on. I sometimes work nights and like to get on my computer to do some work??????????? I won't know this till later any willing to help me.

To access your network from OUTSIDE your computer and your router will have to be ON. If they are off they are off!

You will also have to instal some kind of remote access, like GoToMy PC or VNC in order to have something to connect into. You will need to allow that program to be accessed from the outside by allowing it within your systems firewall.

If you have a router you will have to "Port forward" the program access ports from the router to the computer you wish to access. If you have no idea about any of this, it would be best to get some professional assistance to setup your remote connection.. the last thing you need is to make your computer available to just anyone!
