i have a pc and was wandering what i would need to pick up my dads Wireless connection? my pc is only 20 meters or so from his?

You could buy an external usb2 adapter for your computer I use a belkin one to connect to my Bt Hub but there are other makes you will need your fathers codes look on the router box label most have a range 200-300 meters so it is possible.

Does your standard PC have a wireless card 802.11a/b/g??
If it does then yes it can pick up a wireless signal provided your the router your dad connects do is set to advertising the SSID in promiscuous mode.

You need to make sure your PC is wireless enabled first of all. Click Start, go to Control Panel, go to Network Connections, and if you can see Wireless Network Connection then you have wireless fidelity. Also if it is a wireless router that your dad has, then you need to check what its range is. My guess is that 20m should be fine.

You need a wireless network interface card. These mount in the pc's pci slot much like a modem or other devices would. Once installed and driver loaded you then configure it for your network and all should work.
A 20 meter distance is well within range provided it is not blocked by masonry, metal (e.g. wall ducts), silver backed mirrors, or other r.f. blockers.

Does your Dad had a wireless router? If so, you will need to buy a Wireless Network Interface Card. You can buy these at any electronic store. Follow the instructions to install it and you should be good to go.

Very simply, you need a wireless NIC (Network Interface Card). You can get them from many places (I would suggest Best Buy or eBay). Install the hardware and software that should be included with the NIC, reboot, and you should be able to pick up the connection.

Just buy a wireless adaptor you can get these from argos for about £20 remember and get the correct one for adsl(bt) or cable(virgin) whatever you use to connect your broadband

haha suitable we cant probably %. up theres cus adult males ones are so mixed and attainable! women folk drop super tricks yet optimal adult males dont seem to get them. humorous too in case you make the main of their tatics they dnt get them the two haha - i think of its authentic women folk are from venus adult males are from mars - its any ask your self hw each physique ever gets at the same time lol im in basic terms kidding! No adult males on party you do get them and make good ones!
