Hi, I have a Siemens 4200 Modem and a Netgear Internet Wireless Router. How can I test if these are working?

Also, I have noticed that my internet gateway is running at 812, 000 packets sent/receive and my computer is only recieving/sending 24,000. Is this right?

Also when I am downloading something I only get about 7kbs connection, how can I make it better?

Thanks

We have a wireless network already established in the house. However, can I set up an access point in the shop across the street that will connect to my wireless router at the house and extend the network? Many forums I have read talk about connecting the access point to a wireless router via Ethernet. I would assume that the access point could could do this, but I am unsure. I guess I just want to know if the AP can receive a wireless signal and then resend it to extend the range without having to connect it to anything using Ethernet. -Thanks.

I have an hp psc750 all in one printer which does not have an ehernet sockt. I have 2 laptops which both connect wirelessly to a netgear dg834g router. Laptop 1 is always in use in the living room. Laptop 2 is always in use in the dining room. Printer is in upstairs study. If I want to print I have to plug the printer in to the laptop and print, no problem. But am lazy. How can I make my printer wireless. Do I need a wireless printer server or can i do it a cheaper way with something like a wireless dongle that I can just plug into the back of the printer.

A friend told me once that she was able to get a cheaper rate by threatening to cancel service and go with another service provider because it was cheaper. As a result, her current provider matched the rate of the other provider so my friend would keep her service with them.
Does anyone know the best way to go about doing this and does it actually work?
