same problem I faced last week.......try these 2 steps...I tired first one but also if it doen't work try 2nd one...

1. close your internet firewall....than login do it twice or 3rce...time

after that it'll okay


2. Open Yahoo Messenger go to File > Connection Settings and select No Proxies.

If you have used a proxy server before the messenger might be configured to use proxy.

Now you have remove the settings to allow messenger to connect to the internet.

may be ur computer is having proxy setup. check ur networking settings b4 u login. dial up connection and proxy connection have distinct settings...............
