I want to have a shared folder between two of my computers.
Both run windows XP Home edition
They are connected through a wireless router, but one of them is connected via ethernet cable, and ther other one is connected wirelessly.
It would be much appreciated with any help anybody could give me.

Go into Windows Explorer and find the folder you want to share. Right click on it, and choose "Sharing and Security". Click on the Share this Folder radio box item. Defaults should be fine.

This assumes that you've set up both computers for networking and they are on the same domain. If you see the other computer in Windows Explorer under Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network/ where is what's called a domain, then chances are your networking is set up correctly. To see the shared folders, go on the computer where it isn't local, and go to that same location, find the computer which is sharing it, and click on the + sign. You should see the folder.

1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the folder you want to share. Right-click the folder and select Sharing and Security... If the "Share this folder on the network" check box is available, then select the check box. If it is not available, then you will need to run the Network Setup Wizard, which is found there as a link.

2. Go to your other computer, click Start, Search, then look on the left pane for a choice that says "Computers or People" then select "A computer on the network" (also in the left pane). Enter the name of the other computer with the shared folder.

it might be your best bet to try to put both computers on the same router and try to make a network connection(it might work with your current configuration. I'm not sure) otherwise your options are sharing by: disc (floppy, CD, zip etc..) or also a memory stick or even external hard drive.

I don't know, maybe you could save the info in one computer to a stick (or flopy disc) and insert it in the other computer. Hope that helps.
