I use a 256kbps broadband connection. BSNL is my ISP. Whenever I connect to the internet the 'svchost.exe' run by the system uses 90,000+ K of memory wich slows the computer speed. I use a 256 MB RAM. If i end this svchost TCP/IP is dropped or the connection is closed. My computer is not infected with any sort of virus/malware/spybot/Ad-ware or other unwanted programs. What do I do???

The Lord of the Rings(tm); Return of the King(tm) will now exit.

What is up with this error? Can anyone help me. I did download the Direct 3D thing from microsoft.com but it obviously didn't do anything.

This happens almost every three of four pages I view. It happens regardless of what network I am connected to and whether or not I am using wired or wireless connections. I am certain it is an issue with my computer, but I've done virus scans, adware scans, and nothing comes up. Any ideas?

I have a Netgear WGT624 wireless router on my home network (Comcast Broadband for my IP). About once a week, my computers will either lose the connection the router, or will not find the router at all. In order to reconnect, all I have to do is unplug the AC adapter from my router, then replug it back in. This is no real big deal, but its more of a hassel.

I thought maybe its a problem with my router, but two days ago my brother told me he has the same exact problem. He has a Linksys WRT54G router (Using ATTYahoo DSL for Broadband). I have no idea why this is happening. My dad has the same router as my brother, and he doesnt have the issue.

Anyone have any ideas before I pull my hair out?

OK, I have a wireless internet card on my laptop. Now, my question is, I have one "network" through school that I can log in wirelessly when I'm on campus.
But, how about when I go to "hotspots"? That's my biggest problem. I don't know how to seamlessly connect to other hotspots. I right click the wireless thing, and it shows what networks are available. Then there's connect, configure etc. etc. So, does anyone know a seamless way to connect wirelessly? I'll tell ya, it's quite a hassle going to hotspots, hoping to get some internet, and then struggle to get it up.

thanks.

Computer A (Windows XP) has a wireless addapter on its USB port and speaks to a cablemodem via a wireless router. That works consistently well. Now right next to computer A is computer B with a Fast Ethernet NIC and a USB port. What I would like is for computer B to also reach the Internet via connecting to computer A either via a cross-over cable between their FE ports or via their USB ports. Can you recommend a way to make this work? Computer B is Win98.

I have cable broadband connected to wireless router(D-link). Main computer is connected to router with ethernet cable, Computer upstairs has wireless card in it(Belkin), and a wireless enabled laptop. They are all able to acces the internet at the same time, yet even though i have ran the network wizard on all computers(made sure the domain was same, all same workgroup and entered the gateway settings and given them all subnet masks, made sure printer and file sharing was on) cannot see them on the network.
Any further ideas would be most appreciated as i am tearing my hair out and there is'nt much of that left.
