OK, I have a wireless internet card on my laptop. Now, my question is, I have one "network" through school that I can log in wirelessly when I'm on campus.
But, how about when I go to "hotspots"? That's my biggest problem. I don't know how to seamlessly connect to other hotspots. I right click the wireless thing, and it shows what networks are available. Then there's connect, configure etc. etc. So, does anyone know a seamless way to connect wirelessly? I'll tell ya, it's quite a hassle going to hotspots, hoping to get some internet, and then struggle to get it up.

thanks.

" Heads up, getting internet from hotspots is illegal and you can get in trouble if you get caught. "

Huh? Nonsense! The whole point of a public hotspot is to provide access to the public... either free, or paid.

Hitching a free ride on an unsecured private network is illegal, but hotspots are INTENDED for open use.

You should buy a router and get high speed internet from your local carrier. Embarq is good and they have a $50 rebate. Heads up, getting internet from hotspots is illegal and you can get in trouble if you get caught.

it took me awhile...connect it first...then configure it and make a username and password....then connect it
restart the computer...and change your LAN settings for your internet and network settings....set it as the default

hope it works
