I am buying a laptop and I have to choose between the Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with a memory bandwidth of 12.8Gb/s vs the GeForce Go 7400 with a bandwidth of 7.2Gb/s? This property is the only one that determine which card is better?

I am going from an old computer to a new one. Other than the XP/Vista problem I'm also facing a dilemma about transferring my old files. I can do without most of it, but I still have about 20 G's I want to transfer. It's mainly my video and iTunes files. I just bought a 1G flash card, but this could take a while.

I do have a burner, but all I have is audio CDRs. Can they be used for this purpose?

When I do a search in google i get results or "links" to these results but when i select the link it takes me straight to an advertisement such as low cost plane tickets, free poker, or a porn site which all have nothing to do with whatever I am looking for. How do I fix this problem?

and it wont even load the menu right. it says my graphics card isn't responding.

At present I connect to my broadband provider (talktalk) with the USB modem they provided. I want to do away with the USB modem and go wireless so I can get a econd PC in the home to connect to the internet and also file share. What kind of router do I need? Obviously it needs to be a wireless router (don't want trailing wires) but does it need to be a wireless modem router or can I get away with just a wireless router?

I've just loaded XP on to an old PC but now the @ and " symbols are both in the wrong place (swapped places) does anyone know why and what I need to do to correct it?

New laptop came with Vongo, but it uses up a lot of system resources for a program I don't use. So uninstalled it through add/remove programs. Vongo kept trying to reinstall itself and eventually laptop would not boot up. So had to reinstall Windows Vista but only had the retail version so Vongo is gone but I am missing lots of programs. More importantly Quickplay will not work and my built-in webcam is now useless.
Contacted HP technical help and was told that I would have to purchase recovery CD or jump through several hoops such as downloading quickplay from a non HP website with the warning that if I do and the laptop gets screwed, they are not responsible.
Apparently they are also charging 19.95 for Vongo to be removed.
So basically they installed a program onto a new laptop that messes up the laptop if you uninstall it. And they want you to pay for them to fix it. There are lots of people out there interested in suing Vongo or HP. Can I sue and can it go class-action

I have no connection to an internet now at my apartment, i have heard that if i get a wireless connection router or something, i could pick up Road Runner signals from other people who have an internet connection in my apartment. I know i know, its stealing, but i'm just wondering ;)

My computer has 2 Gb of RAM, but whenever my CD drive is in use, I experience horrific lag on any other task I am performing. This is exceedingly annoying when playing PC games that require the CD to remain in the drive during play. Is there any way I can fix this problem?

I just purchased a brand new XPS dell laptop computer, 2.16 Ghz intel core duo w/ 2 gig RAM, 256MB vid card and windows Vista pre-installed, and I'd have to say I'm a little upset with the speed at which my computer runs. My games are running at a lower FPS than on my old desktop (with XP), and my internet even seems to run slower than my old comp. Is there anything I can do to increase efficiency (short of buying new peripherals), or tweaks available for Vista? I heard something about turning off windows Aero might increase efficiency?? Any help would be appreciated.

it just freezes at the microsoft logo, the blue bar just stops. I cant start it in safe mode or anything else. All ican do is get into the setup thing. i read other answers and it said to reinstall the thing so i wont lose information. how do i go about doing that? does anyone know why this is happening in the first place?
