When I do a search in google i get results or "links" to these results but when i select the link it takes me straight to an advertisement such as low cost plane tickets, free poker, or a porn site which all have nothing to do with whatever I am looking for. How do I fix this problem?

Well Its not banned material that i'm looking up. For instance, I was looking up delta water faucets. So I typed in Delta in the search box. Delta water faucets and Delta Airlines both appeared towards the top and both do the same thing when i select them. It's like this for whatever I search for

Check to see if a browser hijacker is involved.

When doing a Google search click on the link provided and see where you end up. Then do the search again and instead of clicking on the link type in the URL address Google provides and see if you end up at the same place or the Web site you want.

If same place you have a browser hijacker, if not I don't know. Sorry!

To check for the hijacker open

My Computer>Local Disk (Probably C)>Windows>system32>
drivers>etc> right click on Hosts and choose open. when a list of programs comes up choose word pad. to open the file.

Look at the file if anything is listed under 127.0.0.1 Local Host that is a hijacker You can delete them the file but they probably will come back. You can try to eliminate it by running any number of spy-ware/malware removal programs but it is probably best to reformat/re-image the computer.

It seems that you search for banned contents (like warez or some else) and you get some fake results which take you some sites like search.kg, search.tj...... Some warez and crack sites have been banned from web and the search index still exist. That's why you have been steered away
