Computers & Internet - 4 June 2007

I already have boot camp and everything, but the one thing that is bothering me is that the windows I have is not the one with service pack 2. It is the original, as I bought it just when it came out. Should I continue with the installation and try to install service pack later, or should I not do it at all and just forget about installing windows at all?

I have a linksys befw11s4 version 4 wireless router, and when I hook it up I loose my internet connection but once I disconnect it and run my modem right into my pc my connection works just fine. Anybody have any ideas what could be the problem?

I have 2 dvd writers, One is a Sony DRE 710A.

I downloaded winAmp, and have sice removed it!

My Sony will read and burn a CD, but it will not recognize or burn a DVD, though it shows up in everthing correctly and I see nothing in DxDiag that is concerning. There are no drivers except those of XP and I redownload SP 2 and that did nothing

One program keeps telling me to change IO, but I don't know what that is!

Any guesses?

It had been playing DVD's fine!

Any ideas?

When ever I plug my home computers Ethernet cable to my laptop it says its connected on my laptop. So I turned my cable modem off and then on my laptop it still says its connected but the cable modem is turned off. What would be the problem of this?

i got a new laptop and it has windows vista. i was just messing around and i found this program called roxio. i dont remember how i got to it but all i remember was clicking something in this menu that said burn to disc and it asked if i wanted to burn the dvd in my drive onto a blank disc. i hit yes and it asked for me to put in a blank cd. so i did but then i had accidently exited out. now i dont no how to get there. i looked up the program name in the search and it came up with 3 things. the first thing was called creator basic and i thnk that was it but wen i click on it nothing happens. so i tried the other one and it was called express labeler. well that wasnt it. so i tried the last one . my dvd basic v9 . it wasnt the one either. does anyone know what im talking about?? is it the creator basic?? im not sure what i did.

I just got a laptop & am installing the router.
But it says I have to enter a IP address.
And that it was provided by my internet service provider thing.
I think I might know how to do it,

I was ripping CDs onto my laptop. In the middle of ripping one CD it stopped. In the column that shows which tracks had been ripped and which were pending it said 'Error' for one of the tracks and didn't appear to be ripping any more. I tried to eject the CD a few times, but it wouldn't let me. Within the next thirty seconds it ejected, but when I put in another CD it wouldn't read it. I shut down the laptop for a few minutes, but after turning it back on it still won't read the CDs. It's plugged in and the battery is full, if that means anything. I have no idea what made it stop working.
