I just got a laptop & am installing the router.
But it says I have to enter a IP address.
And that it was provided by my internet service provider thing.
I think I might know how to do it,
but i don't want to mess it all up.
So can somebody help & tell me how to do it?

Thanx♥

look to see if you can find something that says obtain automatically or something like that.... what model router do you have?

or if you can see if you can just skip that step or just continue on without entering it

OK first you need to know if you have cable or dsl this will determine how you configure your router you will not need to know your ip address unless you have static this you would pay more money for but if its a residential account you have dynamic which will change at some point OK back to the router if you have cable you will not need to configure the router by default it is set to obtain ip address automatically if you have dsl you will need to change connection type to pppoe and enter your user name and password and the rest will auto populate and then save changes then go to status page and see if it is connected

if you need further help bea9334017@yahoo.com

ask your ip add, subnetmask, gateway, dns1 and dns2 to your ISP (Internet Service Provider)ex AOL, Digitel (this are telephone corp.) then input it to your router and lastly configure your router to give automatic ip to your router... or let the ISP technician configure it for you that is the easy one...

let me know if it works...
