You don't need to defragment that often. Always let the computer analyze the drive before defragmenting, it will tell if is needed or not. There will always be some defragmentation on unmovable files and that's OK.

Thats more than enough. Defragmenting in such a short period of time is good or may be you can choose a longer period of 15 days or 20 days.
May be you can try some special dedicated tools in this area like disk Keeper which do this job more effectively. Thanks.

Once a week should frequent enough for defragging. This by itself will not guaranteed peak performance, as you also need to keep your computer free of malware, etc.

Once a week is is more than often enough to run a defragmentation job. You should be fine running it less frequently if you wanted to. If you happen to use Windows XP, I think its defragmenting tool can analyze your disk and recommend whether it is necessary to defrag or not.

Fragmentation isn't the only thing stopping you from peak performance. It's other things like programs that startup with your PC, things running in the background, unused temporary files, missing shortcuts and more.

I suggest you use CCleaner (google it) to clean up you PC on top of defraging.

You really only need to do this once a month unless you're reinstalling your OS once a week hehe.
