they may click on the internet connection icon located on the bottom right hand tool bar near the time and access your wireless router. To keep them off you may set your router to private using the internet options when you open the internet browser

If you have a wireless router it will bring up all other routers in the surrounding area and if you don't have it password protected they can use yours... their laptop will find yours even before they buy a router.. which is a way of cheating the system.

If your signal is strong enough for them to access and if your line is not encrypted. Just the other night I was putting a PC on cable and during the process, the lines for two of my neighbors came up - however - both were inaccessible.

They shouldnt be able to. If your using wireless, make sure you set it up as a secured connection. They would only be able to slow down your connection if they are using your signal to download a lot of things.

As long as your WEP key is secure, no one can interrupt the wireless functions coz no one can log onto your network! The usual suspect is when you realise your page is loading very slow - someone is hogging the bandwidth.

Do you have a password on your system? Otherwise they may overwhelm it using your Internet access.
Do they do arc welding? They may be interfering with radio signals, which is illegal.
