go to control panel,click on display,click on power,then make your adjustments,you must have it set for hibernate or standby after 30 minutes set everything for never if thats what you want

Sounds like you may have standby or hibernation mode set.

1. Right click on the desktop and select Properties.
2. Click the Screen Saver tab.
3. Click the Power button.
4. Toward the bottom of the dialog box are two list boxes: System Standby and System Hibernation. Set them both to "Never."
5. OK out of everything.

when you say off do you mean shut down or down to screen saver ? if its screen saver then on your desktop right click and then click propertys, then click the tab that says screen saver.. then below it , it has a place that you can adjust the miniutes ..set as high as you like..if this is what you mean then you must have yours set for 30 minites.. gl

rightclick the desktop and click properties. Go to screen saver and click power. Then, change the settings so it stays on longer.
