DNS = Domain Name System
DHCP = Dynamic Host Configuation Protocol
Active Directory = Microsoft's proprietary LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)

DNS resolves hostnames to IP addresses,

DHCP configures host IP addrss, gateway and other network settings (including DNS).

Active Directory is Microsoft's LDAP directory services used primarily in Windows environments. Used for authentication, authorization and managing network objects.

Differences are many, these are apples and oranges you might say.
