the guy who has a lien on my pontiac grand am, apparantly troubleshot my car by replacing every electrical part, one by one. He never gave me a written estimate, or anything in writing, and has never tried to contact me for approval, and has not been able to make it run. he has had it for almost a year next month, and i had to buy 2 used vehicles in the meantime. Now he says it has to be towed to the dealership which is 50 miles away. however, he has a mechanics lien on it for all the parts he ordered for it that he couldn't return. i want to take him to court and recover the cost of money I had to spend on the 2 vehicles and i just want to be able to have my car towed to the dealership without giving him any money. There has never been anything on paper, and I never would have authorized any of the parts bought or the work done. He has done this to a few other people and i live in a really small town. he has the only auto repair shop so he thinks he can get away with it.

Noise started when it has been quite cold here. I drove through some deep snow. When I use the brake it makes a noise like a loud scraping sound. Also I can feel it on the brake pedal a little. Not a squeal more like a loud dry scrape. Otherwise they seem OK. After they do that and I am stopped I can hear the same scrape noise for a minute when I start going again. 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan.

I have a 2000 chevy blazer with around 150,000 miles and i have noticed when i start it up like in the mornings( to go to school) or after school in the evenings ( to come home) the engine makes a knocking/pinging sound for a few seconds and gets louder as i rev the engine but after about 15-20 seconds it is gone and i don't hear it again until after it sets for about 4-5 hours anytime before that it is quiet i have the oil changed every 3,000 and sometimes sooner and usually add engine restore.. i haven't noticed a power diff. or any other driveability problems and it doesn't even always do it... is this serious or ok...

My real question is, is it expensive to fix this car when stuff goes wrong? I ask this because I have a 2002 Audi A4 and im fed up with how much it costs to fix stupid **** that shouldnt go wrong on a nice car like an Audi. It was $650 to change all the liquids in the car. And i just dropped $1500 because the front axel was messed up or some bull. So is the Crossfire like this where its going to cost me $1000 every time some little thing happens to it?

I am simply trying to figure out what's wrong with my car without playing a guessing game and wasting money. Everything else on the car is the same and runs ok except for the fact that I have a deceleration/power loss issue. I'll be driving any speed, highway or local and all of a sudden the car feels sluggish, engine light comes on and that's when I know I have to pull over because the battery and oil lights will follow and the car will be on but have no more will to go on. I got an oil change, replaced air filter, put in a fuel injector cleaner, it has nearly a full tank of gas. Fuel pump and fuel filter were changed 2 years ago, could they need to be replaced again? I stopped driving it a week ago b/c I couldn't depend on it, but now I need my car back. And no I don't have money for a new car so don't even suggest it! Any knowledgable ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just changed the oil and oil filter on my 06 Hyundai Sonata (1st time). I just bought it 3 months ago, not a single oil leak before. Now, everytime I drive it, it just spurts out oil out of the engine somewhere. It's not out of the drain plug, I tightened it solid, and I can see oil pools in the engine housing itself, well above the oil pan.

I had to have done something wrong with the filter, which was on top of the engine (not underneath like my other cars were), I think because it's a v6. I just pulled the old one out and put the new one in, didn't seem that difficult, but apparently something went seriously wrong.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this oil to come out? The cap on top of the oil filter is failry tight (you couldn't loosen it by hand), I can't see that oil would come out of that cap, since it didn't before, but maybe I need to put more torque on tightening it. Anyone know?

I was driving it, then 3rd gear clicked funny. I drove some more, then third gear clicked funny for the second time - when shifting into it. Causing the truck to kick out of gear but stay stuck in third and have no ability to pick up speed. *like neutral*. I got it home ok, but now it sits, stuck in 4th gear. (shifting into third made no gears work, wiggling it and trying to shift it into 4th makes it stick in that gear).
So now its sitting stuck in forth. Any ideas on if its fixable?

Hello,

My toyota corolla (1997 CE) car Wipers have suddenly stopped working. Three days back there was a heavy snowfall followed by very low temperature. Ice was rock hard over Wiper blades and I tried to turn on Wipers to clean the windshield. There was a loud click like sound and since then Wipers aren't working. Is there any home remedy to repair this dysfunction? I mean how difficult is it to repair this by myself? I can manually move Wipers to clean windshield. When I manually place Wiper blades on the middle of the windshield and then try to power on Wipers, there is annoying clicking sounds as if something is trying to hold the Wipers inplace against the force.

I thank you very much in advance for your suggestions.

i replaced hte belt because it was smelling like burning rubber, i also replaced the idler pulley because it was the only one that even seemed somewhat questionable. the smelling rubber has gone away, but not the clutch or squealing. i replaced the thermostat last year because i was doing a complete flush of the system and had everything off anyway. the temperature never seems to be an issue though. is there a way to check the new a/c pulley, perhaps this is the problem. all the pulleys were spinning free and making no noise.
